  • Older travelers

The room was very confortable and clean. Lovely large shower and comfortable bed.

We thought the times for breakfast were rather rigid and not flexible enough. The staff were very busy serving every guest in 1 hour. If the times were more flexible it would make a more relaxing breakfast. Although some guests may not mind, they should not be expected to join a table with other guests. There was no reception for some of the tv channels.

  • Couple

our room was great and spacious, even though we upgraded to a four poster room for our anniversary. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was tasty.

wouldn't class it as a hotel as there was no bar / restaurant. rooms are not insolated enough so everyone can hear eachothers movements in the surrounding rooms.

  • Older travelers

On arrival the welcome was warm and friendly, informative and chatty. The bed in our room was as comfortable as it looked!!! The room was beautifully decorated. Breakfast selection is very good and everything we asked for was available.

  • Couple

Absolutely gorgeous Guest House with warmth and charm. Definately get your money's worth here. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms and fabulous breakfast. Excellent location just a short walk down hill to centre of town.

The staff is definately not very talkative or overly informative. We had no idea where anything was in the area or what we should see or do first. During the day staff was either too busy to talk or would avoid eye contact so they didn't have to talk to you. If you did talk to someone you were lucky if you got more than one word answers.

realy enjoyed a one night stay

difficult to find because of nearby trees and road markings but once found good location

  • Couple

It was a very comfortable place to stay. Made welcome by the staff. Breakfast was very good as was an evening meal we had there.

  • Older travelers

After flighing half way round the world and a long drive from Heathrow, we were told by a very arrogant female that we could not book in until 4 pm. Not even offered a cup of tea.. Not impressed

  • Older travelers

Pleasant welcome and good location. A Rural property in an urban environment. Quiet and exactly as described. Warm and friendly staff. The impression gained was that nothing would be too much trouble. The impending evening meal option would be positive. [If the breakfast is anything to go by !]

Hairs in the bed and pillows were hard. Small points that did not tarnish our overall view but should be avoidable.

  • Older travelers

We have stayed in many hotels and guest houses in this country and abroad in our 43 years of marriage ,this guest house was truly one of the best. Definitely will be returning, the breakfast was outstanding and we felt relaxed during our stay.

  • Older travelers

The owner was lovely and very welcoming, but I chose the hotel for its 4 star accreditation and expected more from a 4 star hotel. The room and bathroom were very small and they did not accept credit cards for an evening meal only cash which made things quite diffciult. The wifi did not work. The place itslef was very pretty but I would give it no more than 2 star for the facilities it offered.

    The room

  • Group of friends

Good location. Excellent staff and very comfortable, clean room.

  • Older travelers

Open fire in the entrance hall provides a warm welcome - added to which you can be assured of personal attention by Mrs. Beasley. Rooms well appointed and maintained. Selection of magazines around to read at your leisure. Very good breakfast in attractive dining room. The added advantage of being able to eat in the restaurant in the evening for those who either don't want to use their car or walk into town.

  • Older travelers

The hotel staff were very friendly and polite and helpful and would recommend it to my friends.

  • Single

Late check-in; 16:00. Early check-out; 10:00.No staff present during daytime. Not very friendly staff. BB Guest House covers it.

  • Single

Service and staff were good. Room was nice, clean and spacious.

Too cold. The room was not heated to a comfortable temperature for sitting comfortably. The restaurant was cold. Waiting for the food to be served was uncomfortable because the room was chilly.
